This gallery reflects some beautiful late afternoon and sunset photographs taken in the area of Lake Manapouri. While most people know that New Zealand has spectacular fjords, mountains, lakes and scenery, what they don’t always know is how beautiful the play of light and clouds can be here. Coming from the United States, it seems that there are either no clouds most of the time or when there are clouds, there’s mostly this low, grey deck that covers the region for days at a time. I remember how big, beautiful and impressive the clouds were when I’ve lived on the U.S. prairies, but on the eastern and western portions of the US, the clouds aren’t nearly as impressive as the prairie’s clouds or New Zealand’s clouds…
